The fuel gauge on my 97 Regency does not read properly. Sometimes it will read a full tank and other times it will be empty when I know it has a full tank. Is this a common problem and if so how would i go about fixing this? I've been told it could be a fuse or a loose wire. Any help would be great!

Question: Fuel Gauge not working

Either the fuel level sensor, fuel gauge or the wiring/connectors are malfunctioning, hard to say without a diagnosis. The first thing I would do is add a bottle of Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus to the fuel tank and drive it. I have fixed several erratic fuel gauge issues with this stuff. It cleans the fuel level sensor in the tank, give it a shot, it's a very inexpensive repair and it will also help to clean the injectors and valves as well.

my gauge does not work either on my 81 chevy pick up but do you think that also a seafoam bottle will work as well instead of the chevron techron bottle?. carlos firstname.lastname@example.org
