  Most likely the fuel tank sender unit has failed. The fuel tank sender unit is accessed through a hatch (I forget if it is under the rear seat or under the rear carpet in the trunk), about an hour labor. part is about $140 but this is just a guess get the component checked. They will stat by checking this sensor!
