Question: fuel filter location

The fuel filter is it located in the engine area or on the frame under the car.

    I believe its in the engine compartment guide doesn't show it's location. The original filter from Nissan has push on fuel hoses and is silver in color about the size of a baseball.

    is there only that one fuel filter or is there 2 and do i clamp down on hoses before i disconect fuel filter
