What is the cause of this issue? is it the main computer that needs to be reset or is it a computer sensor in the tank itself. The dealer nor Ford's know the cause of this problem or how to fix it. has anyone else had a problem with this and know how to fix it and where the problem is.

I have found what I think is your problem... There is a sensor in your car called a slash sensor its ether under the dash or in some its in the right rear quarter panal. Its about 60 bucks replace it and she fix the issue.

Are you talking about the mileage computation? If so, first the tank fuel level sensor has to work perfectly, this can be verified by filling your tank and then driving the car with a scan tool to watch the gallon by gallon consumption. After say 5 gallons are suppose to be gone, fill the tank and verify the amount. If that checks out ok, then the miles per gallon computer which is usually part of the instrument cluster needs to be checked. It is not the main Power Train Computer that does this, and by the way, it is at best, a decent estimate, I would never use it to count on. I find them too error prone. Is your car getting poor mileage or using too much gas?
