2000 Lincoln Navigator Question: frozen engine

Have you checked the coolant level and engine oil level? Are these levels OK? Did the Check Engine Light come on or temperature gauge read higher than normal or did you receive any warning message on the information display?

all levels were fine and no check engine light on or anything

It is possible that your engine just experienced random catastrophic failure but this hardly ever happens with out giving some warning. Could someone have been driving your Navigator when you had thought it was parked? Sorry to hear the engine has given out. Very expensive repair to remove and refit a new engine.
