I just replaced the fron wheel bearings on my 96 ford aerostar AWD van and there is a rubbing noise comming from both front wheels. I used a chilton manual as a reference and it did not mention any "seals". I did buy the seals but did not use them and did not see any when I removed the old bearings. Should I have pt them on?

That model uses a wheel hub assembly with a sealed "cartridge style bearing" that does not have a replaceable grease seal. Could the metal shield behind the brake rotor have got distorted or bent during the wheel bearing replacement? Perhaps that is the noise you now hear.
