i puled my left tier off a seen that the black ruber pice came down on the top of it was a boot looking thing and the right side also. side this car is makeing noice and was just inspected

Have noticed rattling noise when going over bumps and a mechanical "click" sound (for lack of a better description) when turning somewhat sharply and low speeds. Simultaneously, inner tie rods wore to the extent that the inside edges of the tires became rapidly worn.

Bushing went out on the suspension. Dealer fixed for couple of hundred bucks. Problem was lessened, but the final solution resulted in struts being replaced. Both items needed attention for my vehicle

front noise when going over speed bumps or dips in the road
reported to Tampa Volvo dealer while still under extended warranty; they said nothing was wrong; nothing was dangerous and it was safe to drive; now have almost 80K miles and I find that this is a common problem reported on S80
The dealer should have known this and fixed it while under warranty!

I had same problem with noise on right front side of car, usually when I go over bumps or holes. My mechanic determined that is was the right strut mount. He replaced it and it worked fine for a short period of time. Returned car to him and he is going to put in another strunt mount. The part is in and I will get work done next week.
