The upper strut plate is likely broken, very common on this model.
It will require about 1 hour of labor to completely remove the strut, dissemble and replace the upper strut plate. I suggest doing both sides at the same time, the other is probably cracked and ready to go as well.
Have the shop check the struts and replace them if necessary since this adds no labor time to the job while replacing the plates.
