1995 BMW 540i Question: Front passenger seat

 Rookie

Hi, my passenger seat is stuck in the reclining position and when I want to bring it in to the upright position only the righthand side elevates. The whole seat then pulls scew. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

    the motors that control the seat movement are not working well together. most likely the left rear motor in the seat controls. remove the seat from the vehicle and check the "screw" mechanism under the seat for proper operation.

    the seat functions are all cable driven. BMW sells a kit that contains all the cables. you will need to remove the
    seat from the car and turn it upside down to access the
    cables. this repair usually takes about 2 or 3 hours to replace all the drive cables.
