2006 BMW 325xi Q&A

2006 BMW 325xi Question: Front Brakes

Repair shop tells me the front brakes are at 9%. At the same time, they say it's not urgent and can be dealt with on my next scheduled service. What does 9% really mean and how concerned should I be? Thank you. -
Answer 1
You probably have over 4mm of pad material remaining and should get you to the next oil change. -
Answer 2
Did they give you an exact measurement, like 3mm or 5mm?? Always make sure you get the inner & outer brake pads measured. -
Comment 1
They said they can't measure breaks without taking 'everything' off and the 9% was a computer generated estimate. -
