The repairpal website shows oil change intervals for your 2000 Toyota Camry at 7,500 miles. Another good source for that information would be your owners manual. You may find conflicting information regarding oil change intervals if you check the Toyota website. 7,500 miles would be the maximum I would recommend between oil changes using conventional motor oil, and never longer than 6 months. Using a full synthetic oil may allow you to extend that oil change interval, check with the manufacture of the synthetic oil you are using for recommendations. One option using full synthetic oil would be to extend the oil change interval to 15,000 miles but still change the oil filter every 7,500 and top off the engine oil after the filter change. There is no problem switching back and forth from conventional and synthetic engine oils. They are completely compatible with each other.
