1991 Ford Explorer Question: freeze plugs

where is the freeze plug on the pass side of the 4.0 v-6 if i lost my freeze plug will the water just be pour out?im trying to find out if its the freeze pugs or if i just blew it up....the wether was very cold and it may have been frozen when it was started -

freeze plugs are pressed into place and look like a upside down juice bottle cap and painted to match the engine and if the engine freezes due to low anti freeze mixture then the plug will pop out but sometimes not completely so fill the engine with a coolant mixture and see if it leaks and follow that leak to see if it is the plug -
