Question: Found used vehicle for sale.

I am thinking of buying a used 04 s430 for my wife. I usually perform my own vehicle maintenance. Am I going to be able to do this with a MB. I do not want a vehicle maintenance nightmare here. I was hoping for a little fun.

    It all depends on your experience and ability. If you mean oil changes and brake jobs, that's probably not much different than simpler cars, but myself, being a retired mechanic with 35 years experience, I'd want to be sure about any type of maintenance involving the 4matic or differentials, etc before I touched anything I wasn't familiar with. German cars, and especially 4matic types are complex and not like cars built in "the old days." Get a good manual on the car and get to know a MBZ specialist on a friendly basis so you can get information about things you (or I) would not expect.

    Thanks Superbob. Brakes, oil changes, belts, tire rotation anti-freeze and the sort. Transmition, differentials, not my cup of tea. What about the air ride suspension. Is this a big problem for reliability? justlooking
