The thing that impressed us most about Foreign Affairs is their highly experienced staff. Their three service writers have 57 years of experience between them and previously worked at Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche dealerships before coming to the shop. Their technicians are also experienced: two have 30+ years of experience in the industry and three of them are ASE certified. We found that Foreign Affairs' facility has the look and feel of a high end dealership and we love that this shop is a family affair. Owner and service writer, Frank Ortiz, founded the company with his spouse in 1982 and is still a vibrant presence in the shop.

I only had one complaint and it happened twice. The two times I was there, they took off my license plate holder and put theirs on. The first time they said a guy did it on his own. The next time I went in they did it again. I didn't like that they were taking advantage of me to put their advertisement on my vehicle.
I feel they are very professional. They are very sincere and honest. I always feel very comfortable taking my car there to be repaired. I feel they are a very trusted advisor for my automotive needs or requirements or repairs. I highly recommend them. They are very fair and very professional. They stand by their work. They are very warm. They make you feel very comfortable. You go there and you feel like you're seeing a friend that you do business with. They make you feel very warm and welcome. I would highly recommend them to anybody to take their cars there because they are honest, decent people. We wouldn't take our cars anywhere else, honestly. For exceptional quality cars that are used, they have an incredible selection.
Customer BEWARE! I paid $1200 for service of my Benz. Only to have to bring it back after 10 of leaving their shop. Complained to owner, only for them to "attempt" to resolve the issue for which they said was fixed. After 3 weeks of them "servicing" my car, it still has to be taken to another repair shop for the work they supposedly performed. I've already filed the paperwork to take them to court.
Only take your car to them if you want to be RIPPED OFF! Unfortunately the website doesn't allow you to leave 0 stars!!
I took my Benz for service and not only were they over price the work was also not done properly. When I brought the car back they wanted to do something else and charge me 6 hrs of service @ $113 per hour. I called another shop diagnosed the problem and only charge me 1 hour plus the part.
Beware they are a ripoff.

I must tell you that I am not only impressed at how you were able to find this very rare car, but also so grateful because of the incredible deal you put in front of me…. You made me a deal I could not refuse. The whole transaction from beginning to end was smooth and effortless, something rare these days, and you got me the car of my dreams at a price that was way below market. This is the second car I have purchased from you in under 6 months and this is why my family and I will continue to purchase our vehicles from you. I had a 1983 Mercedes which i loved! My husband and i stopped using Frank and foreign affairs several years ago because we felt he was ripping us off. Everytime i left the shop I'd have more problems and everytime it would cost us thousands. We finally caught on when i was having an issue and I stayed while Frank checked out my car. At first he said it was the plugs and he replaced,then when problem persisted he said spark plug wires, which he replaced! when problem still persisted he said fuel injector but couldn't replace just one so thousands of dollars to fix!!! I told Frank to put all old spark plugs and wires back and went to the dealer and they told me "Of course you can replace injector singularly and it was about a $39.00 part!!" I asked them to fix. They called two hours later to tell me it was a cracked distributor cap!!! A four dollar part!!!!! Never went back to Foreign Affairs and never again heard from Frank!!!! He
made plenty of money off us before we caught on!!!
My experience with Foreign Affairs Auto has been like no other dealership. From the moment you walk into the dealership you are made to feel like you are apart of a family not just another customer to them. Everyone is friendly, courteous and very helpful. The service was done in a timely manner and was excellent! I worked with Klaus Buchebner and his dedication to customer service was refreshing and very much appreciated. I will not go anywhere else to get one of my vehicles serviced. It was truly a pleasure going to Foreign Affairs Auto.
Frank and the guys at Foreign Affairs Auto have been taking care of me for years. Service with a smile and espresso. You just don't find repair facilities like this one anymore.
As vehicles become more complex the repair is just as complex. Frank does a great job explaining these complex systems in simple terms I can understand and relate to. I can trust that my vehicle is repaired properly the first time and I understand what was actually done.

My wonderful husband bought me a 2001 SLK 320 from Foreign Affairs Auto 8 years ago.
We have had the car serviced ONLY at Foreign Affairs Auto since. The car just reached 100,000 miles and I would like to thank the staff at Foreign Affairs Auto for a worry free 100,000 miles.

Amazing Service! As a single mom, I have always been terrified of having to bring my car to the dealer for service or repairs. Last month, I received a flyer in the mail inviting me to try out Foreign Affairs for service. I was able to get my car looked at the same day with no prior appointment. From the very moment I got there, I felt very comfortable. Frank and the staff made me feel valued and simply appreciated. I was given a written estimate of the needed fix and all repair recommendations were even visually verified by actual photographs taken of my car. I couldn't believe how cool it was to receive actual photos of their recommendations for me to see and understand on my phone. Incredible....not even at the Dealer! This was my second trip to FA. Again they exceeded my expectations!

Klaus was his usual helpful self. Remembered me from my prior visit for a different issue.
My 1997 S320 has a number of minor issues so I'll be going back again.
These folks know Customer Service and perform excellent work at a reasonable price.
This was my first visit to Foreign Affairs Auto and I was quite impressed with the overall customer service and personal attention that I was given. Manager Klaus Buchebner was friendly, knowledgeable and I felt right at home. I've already spoken to serveral of my co-workers about Foreign Affairs and hope that they will take the opportunity to let the service technicians there give their cars the same care and treatment that I received today. Ten days after bringing my Mercedes in for an oil change my check engine light came on and my car would not start. I was so upset that I put the vehicle back in the garage and haven't driven it since then. I'll be contacting Klaus soon to see if he can make it right.
And where's my license plate tag Klaus???
I took my Mercedes in for the very first time for a computer problem. The repair was completed. They also gave me an estimate to repair an oil leak. Deciding not to get the oil leak fixed, I took my vehicle to another repair shop. They fixed the oil leak for 54% cheaper than what these guys quoted me. I now feel I got ripped off for the computer repair. If you are on a budget, I recommend to shop around. These guys are certainly not cheap.
I recently purchased a 1998 Volvo S90, and was looking for a dealer that I could trust for service. I had tried a few repair shops and was not satisfied with any. I then tried Foreign Affairs after reading that Better Business Bureau gave them an
A+. that is the best. I asked for prices over the phone, and was satisfied. I met Frank and Jonathan who both treated me like I was a member of there family. they made me feel so welcome. the repairs were done correctly and on time. I have never been as happy with an auto repair company. they are beyond great.

Great Service! I was looking for a place my VW Passat and I could feel comfortable at, and Foreign Affairs Auto far exceeded my expectations. Kim and frank treated me in the manner in which I try to treat my customers, with professionalism and compassion. It is hard to find a business founded on virtue anywhere these days, but it seems to be their business model. While few people are happy to spend money on repairs and maintenance, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t feel good about dealing with those who do the work.
You have every right to expect a friendly business relationship, in which you pay fair market value for the work, and it’s done correctly by people you respect. Here are a few reasons I've come up with in my three years of going there as to why you should choose Foreign Affairs Auto:
1. They employ qualified professionals to carry out the repair and maintenance work.
2. Professional Customer Service either in or out of warranty situation.
3. The service department gives you options that you can choose from that will save you money? (This is a sure sign of an honest mechanic.)
4. They back/warranty the parts and labor.
5. Friendly, helpful, and not irritated by your questions.
6. They get to know you AND your vehicle inside and out, and you’ll always be able to discuss your vehicle’s health with them.
I not only use their mechanics for all my service needs (BMW and Mercedes), but I also bought (from Fred) my latest car here. Foreign Affairs Auto is a business that I have come to trust explicitly and so will you.
Live in downtown. Found Foreign Affairs on the web and found very good reviews. When my BMW 535i broke down, I guess out of coincidence, my next door neighbor also referred me to Foreign Affairs. With all of the great things heard and read, I decided to have my car towed in. Their staff is wonderful. Very polite, seem very honest, and professional. They treated me with enormous respect and got my car back on the road in a respectable time.
Very nice facility! Definitely a hidden gem. I live in the area and must have driven by the place 100 times. Last month, my Volvo C70 had a problem with the A/C. I got an estimate from the Volvo dealer to fix and since money is tight at the moment I decided to do some research of good alternatives. I found Foreign Affairs Auto online and called for an estimate. The estimate I received was almost $400 less than the one I got from the Volvo dealer. I did more research on Foreign Affairs and found all great reviews and excellent rating with the BBB so I decided to give them a try. I was more than pleasantly surprised by my initial impression when I arrived for my appointment. The inside is gorgeous! Very clean. Contemporary design. Very nice customer lounge. Espresso bar!!!! Shop area is immaculate. Kim, my service writer, was very courteous. They provided me with a shuttle ride to work and picked me up at the end of the day. The invoice I received was exactly the amount I was originally quoted. You just get a great feeling doing business with Foreign Affairs. I, without a doubt will be back! A+ RECOMMENDATION.
Just picked up my Range Rover last week after bringing it to Foreign Affairs for a suspension issue. What a relief and pleasure it was doing business with Foreign Affairs Auto. What a difference vs. going to the dealer. I was treated very fairly, saved and am very happy to have found Foreign Affairs using this site. I saved $760!!!
This place is good for Mercedes Benz, probably BMW's, but I took my Land Rover there and basically I was paying them to learn how to fix land rovers. My SUV was in and out of that place every day for a week, they could never fix it and I had to take it to the dealer to know that Foreign Affairs did such a terrible job, basically I paid double the money...and I also learn in the dealer thet they charged me for a part that should be for free...same story with my husbands Porshe, the experience was horrible and do not recommend this place at all.
What is worse, they knew they were charging me all that money and never even offer to waive anything after such an aweful experience.

I most recently had my 2007 Mercedes S550 in for service. I have to express that I am so happy to have finally found a service place that makes the service experience so delightful. Exceptional service received. I was tired of going to the Mercedes dealer and paying outrageous repair bills but I didn't know where to go or who to trust. I was given a Great recommendation from a neighbor and decided to give Foreign Affairs a try. What a delightful surprise! The service advisors were very courteous and quickly earned my respect and trust. While I waited for my car, I was invited to a delicious cappuccino at their very own espresso bar! I sincerely felt that Foreign Affairs had very fair prices and honest service. I now feel much more comfortable knowing that I found a great place that I can trust the next time my vehicle asks for service!
New to the area and needed to do scheduled maintenance on my 05 Mini Cooper S. Found Foreign Affairs Auto on this site. Great Experience! Requested a quote over the phone before hand, made an appointment, and took my car over. All work was performed in a timely manner and I was treated with great respect while I waited. What a difference versus going to the Mini Dealer! I wish I would have found Foreign Affairs years ago! When it came time to pay, I was presented an invoice with the exact amount I was quoted. Whenever I go to a service facility, whether it be a Porsche dealer or an independent shop, I always judge their service by how well they maintain the store and staff appearance. Because if they take the time to maintain their appearance (discipline), more than likely they also maintain high-quality in their work. From the time I first walked through the doors at Foreign Affairs, I was impressed with what I saw. This shop has to be the BEST KEPT SECRET in PALM BEACH!!!
