RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled certain 1990 Taurus and Mercury Sable and 1991 Explorer vehicles for an issue with the front seat rigid seat belt buckles. Some buckles will not release, some will not latch at all, and some may not latch fully. All concerns pose safety risks to occupants. RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled certain 1990-1992 Taurus and Mercury Sable wagons to replace the self-latching assembly in the rear storage compartment. The potential exists for a child to accidentally lock him or herself inside the storage compartment or rear footwell area. This could lead to panic, air deprivation, or possible asphyxiation, as the compartment cannot be opened from the inside once locked. Dealers will replace the latch assembly with one that can only be locked with a key.
