The doors may be difficult to latch, and the latches may not fully secure the doors in the closed position. This could allow a door to open while the vehicle is in motion.
Ford will notify owners of affected vehicles in June, 2015. If you are experiencing difficulty closing your doors, or wish to inquire if your vehicle is involved in this recall, you may contact your dealership. The dealership may ask for your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), so please have that on hand when you contact them. The dealers will replace all four door latches free of charge. The Ford recall number is 15S16.
The fuel tank may leak due to a manufacturing error.
Ford notified owners of affected vehicles starting in July 2014. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The Ford recall number is 14S12.
The passenger side curtain air bag will not deploy in the event of a side impact collision when the front passenger seat is empty. Although this is how it was designed, Ford will be reprogramming the air bag system computer to allow the side curtain to deploy whether the passenger front seat is occupied or not.
As of this writing, Ford has not yet released a notification schedule for this recall. There are no symptoms related to this recall.
