Ford F-150 Recalls
The driver's side seat back frame on a manually reclining seat may not be welded sufficiently, and may not protect an occupant in a crash.
Brake fluid may leak under the hood internally from the master cylinder into the brake booster. This fluid leak may not be visible, but eventually would cause loss of front brake system operation. This would increase risk of an accident.
The automatic transmission may unexpectedly and suddenly shift into first gear, regardless of vehicle speed. This could cause the vehicle to jerk and slow without warning and lock the rear tires causing them to slide without warning. This could result in a loss of vehicle control and injury.
The passenger seat has a mechanism that determines if an occupant in the seat is an adult that should have protection offered by the passenger frontal air bag in the event of an accident. This mechanism also turns off the air bag and prevents its deployment in the event it detects a child in the seat. The system may malfunction and shut down the passenger side air bag preventing deployment when the seat massage feature is active, even with an adult in the seat. This increases risk of injury.
The front seat belts may not be properly assembled and could fail to restrain occupants in an accident. This would result in increased risk of injury.
When using the adaptive cruise control feature, the vehicle may falsely detect an obstacle in its path and may unexpectedly apply the brakes. This would increase risk of a crash.
A portion of the steering shaft may separate, causing a loss of steering control. This could result in an accident.
The heat shields under the body of the vehicle may be loose or missing. This could cause degradation or melting of the fuel or vapor lines, resulting in a fire hazard.
The passenger frontal air bag may not deploy as needed in an accident due to a fault of the occupant classification system that detects the presence of a passenger in the front passenger seat. If a passenger is not detected and the air bag does not deploy, there would be an increased risk of serious injury.
The brake lights may not operate properly due to an improperly adjusted switch located on the brake pedal. This would cause the increased risk of an accident.
