Ford Recalls 1990 Taurus and Mercury Sable Vehicles for Auto Lamp System Issue

Ford has recalled certain 1990 Taurus and Mercury Sable vehicles equipped with the autolamp headlamp control system. In some cases, the autolamp system could fail, causing a loss of headlight function. This could present a safety issue while driving. Dealers will replace the affected light sensor modules.

Summary: AN INCORRECT TRANSISTOR MAY CAUSE AUTOLAMP SYSTEM LIGHT SENSOR MODULE MALFUNCTION.
Consequence: HEADLAMPS COULD TURN OFF WHILE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN OR REMAIN ON AFTER VEHICLE IS PARKED. LOSS OF HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO THE DRIVER AND OTHER TRAFFIC.
Remedy: REPLACE LIGHT SENSOR MODULES.
