Plastic Intake Manifold May Crack Causing Coolant Leak

Verified for the Ford Explorer

The composite (plastic) intake manifold may crack near the thermostat housing and cause a coolant leak. Ford released an updated manifold that was reinforced to prevent a recurrence. No recall was issued for this problem but Ford did extend the warranty to seven years on some models from the date of purchase.

It is actually a COMMON thing for the rear passenger side spark plug to blow out. it is obviously a defect but Ford will not ackklnowledge it. My personnal mechanic repalces at least 4 a month and the ford dealers own service manager said they replace as many as 3 a week. thanks Ford for making us all look like fools.. oh by the wa. it is not cheap to fix unless you want to take a chance like I did and buy the kit, but good luck because the th...
