Ford Expedition Recall 05V017000
Ford Recalls 2000 Vehicles for Defective Speed Control Deactivation Switch
Drive Train, February 8, 2005
RepairPal Expert Overview
Ford has recalled 2000 Expedition, F150, and Lincoln Navigator models because of a possible defect in the speed control deactivation switch. Some switches could leak. Because the switch has electrical power at all times, the leaking fluid could ignite and cause a fire, even when the vehicle is unattended. Dealers will install a jumper harness to prevent a fire in the event of a leak. If a leak is found during inspection, the switch will be replaced.
