Check Engine Light Due to Failed MAF Sensor
The mass air flow sensor (MAF) may fail resulting in a rough engine idle, hesitation on acceleration, and/or engine stalling. The Check Engine Light may or may not illuminate. A failed mass air flow sensor will require replacement.
Check Engine Light due to worn spark plugs
An illuminated Check Engine Light may indicate that the spark plugs are worn; this will cause intermittent misfire and damage to the coil packs.
Rough Idle Caused By EGR Sensor Sticking
Intermittent rough idle may be caused by the EGR sensor sticking, causing the EGR valve to stay slightly open. Our technicians tell us the valve and sensor must be replaced together to correct this concern.
Rough Idle Due to Cracked PCV Hose
The PCV hose may crack, causing the vehicle to idle roughly, this may or may not illuminate the Check Engine Light.
Engine is knocking loudly, and truck is hesitant to drive
While driving for about 30 min, my engine began to knock loudly and began to experience and very rough idle. It is very hasitant to drive and comes really close to cutting off when I come to a complete stop. I check the engine oil and it is good. However, I did put about a quarter tank of 87 unleaded gas in there this morning from a low-priced gas station so maybe that has something to do with it.
