2006 Ford Escape Recalls
For vehicles that have had a replacement Ford remanufactured automatic transmission installed, the shift lever bolt may not be properly tightened. This can result in the shift lever disengaging from the transmission, making it impossible to know the proper gear selected, nor put the vehicle into park to secure it.
The cooling system for the hybrid system may fail, resulting in loss of power and stalling of the vehicle.
A shaft that transmits engine power to the wheels may fracture. If this happens, the transmission will be unable to transmit power to the wheels and hold the vehicle when shifted into park, which could result in a crash.
