Symptoms of a failing DPFE sensor are hesitation or stumbling when driving along with illumination of the Check Engine Light.

An abnormal noise may develop from the transfer case. At this time parts are not available to repair internal damage to this type of transfer case, replacement is the only option. It is not uncommon for irregular tire wear to cause a similar noise. Diagnoses should be performed to confirm the actual cause of the driveline noise. Tire noise can be reduced by rotating the tires at least every 5000 miles.

AC cuts out when driving uphill. It seems like when I accelerate on the gas while the AC is on, the AC then stops blowing through the front vents and get rerouted to the dash vents next to the windsheild. Please assist.

Driving at night and within a few seconds first the lights kind of went dim then bright, next the radio goes off, then the dash goes out from left to right and the headlights go out. I am on a bridge going 50 mph with no lights and it is pitch dark with no shoulders at the end of the bridge on either side of the road it was very nerve racking. Lucky for me, a friendly driver comes along and lets me follow them to next rest stop at a snail pace...

Engine starting knocking about 80,000 miles, died completely around 110,000 miles. Just another example of to H' with the car buyer. The Escape has the right name, because after you get suckered into buying one, the only alternative is to wish for an Escape. Oh and see my other post related to this lemon about the alternator and transmissions (that's 2 out of my pocket transmission before 75,000 miles). I have owned Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford...
