Fly Wheel? on 2001 Audi TT Quattro

When I get to 3000 rpm the engine revs if I keep it under it drives great. I took it to an import place and they say it is the Fly Wheel. What is your opinion?

You don't say whether you have an automatic transmission or a manual. I'm assuming it's manual and the clutch is slipping. If so, you need a clutch job, therefore, the flywheel is involved. In an automatic, I don't see what the flywheel would have to do with it. Actually, it wouldn't have a flywheel exactly, anyway..
