My rearview mirror has a built-in compass and thermometer, but the compass is now broken. Do I have to replace the whole mirror to get it fixed, or would it be more simple than that? Would I be better just getting a compass for my dashboard? (I use it a lot.)

MasterIt is probably unlikely that getting a new mirror assembly would fix the problem. I'm concerned that it's only the compass display that is in the mirror, and that there is another problem somewhere else. Unless you want to take the car in and have someone look at it to find the problem, it may be best (cheapest) to just get another compass.
