    It was a Saturday morning when I took my Ford Expedition with 192,000 miles for a simple transmission filter and fluid exchange. It took them over 2 hours to figure out that my vehicle had over 100,000 miles on it. I was told by the shop manager, "It is company policy that we (at Firestone CAC) do not touch any transmission with over 100,000 miles on it. In older transmission the fluid acts as a friction modifier, so changing any fluid could lead to a slipping transmission, or total failure. The best course of action would be to take it to a real transmission shop, so they can look at the chemical breakdown of the actual transmission fluid." I appreciate the honest information, but not the time (2 hours) it took to convey it.
