Question: filling the ac system

I want to recharge the ac system. My questions are 1) is the low pressure connection against the firewall under a plastic housing and 2) Does this car take R134?

    No it does not take R-134a - it takes R-12. R-134a was introduced in cars on January 1, 1993. As far as the ports go, they are located on the hoses that are attached to the compressor.
