My 2008 rabbit doesn't "know" when the driver's door is open, which is causing the same lock "cyling" problem reported here as well as many others. When the driver's door is open, the little diagram that pops up on the screen in the instrument cluster still shows it as shut, which is a dead give-away. The cabin light also doesn't come on. Also, if I unlock the car with the key fob, get inside, but don't start the engine, it'll re-lock itself after 30 seconds or whatever as if I'd never opened any doors. - Visitor
Car doors and latch lock without warning when car is parked. - Visitor
Drivers door lock "cycles" upon opening. It tries to lock and keeps doing so quickly for as few as 3 times, and as many it can it approx. 10/15 seconds. Closing the door stops it, usually. Unpredictable when this occurs, but it appears to do so more frequently as I get to 90,000 miles. Additionally the rear hatch lock never seems to work correctly. It might open when you first press the door unlock (within 10 seconds), but it might not. It generally always relocks after less than 30 seconds. Pulling the switch on the drivers door always opens it, for at least 15 seconds, but it relocks itself. Then again, sometimes this does not happen. Sometimes just walking up to it with the key unlocks it. I never know when this will be unlocked, unless i activate it with the door switch. - Visitor
no windows no locks or fuel door from left drivers door.
Happens upon start up and comes on 2 or 3 times then it's done.
