Most likely you have an Automatic Climate Control System where you can set the temp and the system just keeps it there. The blower fan is part of this system. So, if I was working on this car, I would scan the Climate Control Computer first and foremost to see if the fan control module was working correctly.

Hey there, I had the same problem with fan;
Pls note that if you are in a very hot environment and the car does not move or does slowly - watch the temp gauge;
if close to top - stop, get out & open the hood, put climate on top hot and switch it on (basically - the heater on)...this will help to chill the engine....then stop;
Next you have to check the blower by giving power to it directly from the battery - if works then good! make a temporary connection and go to a garage or place where you can check the rest of electricity circuit: termostat, coolant, wires, but start with fuse! Most probably you will have to wash the cooling system and change the coolant, but again - check thermostat and electricity circuit for the blower first (cheaper...)
