fan blower on 2004 Ford Taurus

How to increase the air flow out of the heater/ac vents??? Its there but when its 20 below the heater will not melt ice till i;m 5 miles from home????

Make sure the cabin air filter is not plugged, and make sure there are no leaves or debris at the area between the windshield and engine compartment where the air intake vents are located for the heater-A/C system
