The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve or the evaporative emission control (EVAP) solenoid can stop functioning. Failure of either one can cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate.

EGR valve failed or so it appreared and check engine light came on. Removing the valve and giving it a good bath in Sea Form resolved the problem and it is still going strong after 10K miles of use. Better still, just replace with a new genuine value from Acura. Very easy to do..
