Exhaust Flange Gasket and Exhaust spring problems on 1995 Chevrolet Lumina

Will bad Exhaust Flange Gasket and/or Exhaust spring connecting the exhaust manifold to the exhaust pipe, cause a clunking noise when accelerating from a stop? Thank you for your reply!

if they are very losse possibly. have u ck'd the motor mounts?

The engine & transmission mounts both are fine. The clunking noise only happens when accelerating from stop, none on reversing backing up shift. I recently had a job done, perhaps the exhaust flange gasket is damaged or missing, it has never been replaced, though. Will this cause extensive damage, if left for awhile. Thanks.

yes it can cause fuel trim issues and poss valve damage
