Was a class action ever filed? Have been dealing with oil consumption for years, deflector installed minor impact but still using oil. Recent problem with engine light and service stabiltrak error message. Told tests yield no compression in cylinder #7. Advised proper fix for long term is replace engien and control box. Seems to me like GM should be paying. 140K miles now purchased new from dealer.

I have been having the same issue with mine. When I start it the car makes a clattering noise and my oil pressure doesn't raise until the clattering stops. I have taken my car to the dealership several times and they can never hear the noise. I recorded it this time and was told that I need a new oil pump and lifters, he is going to meet with me and tell me the damage. I am replying to your to let you know that GM has put out an alert about the oil consumption, problem is that it isn't a recall yet or who knows if it will ever be. What happen with your suburban, mine has the same mileage as yours and I bought brand new too.
