Excess oil consumption on Grand Caravan? on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

I have 49849 miles on this vehicle and recently my oil light came on. I checked the oil and discovered a reading of 0 on the oil dipstick. Immediately put in 2 quarts of oil. I have the same issue with my 2002 Dodge Intrepid with 60,152 miles. Both vehicles are 1000 left before there 3000 mile oil change. No leaks present on ground nor do I have 'blue' smoke out of the exhaust. This is definately a chrysler recall problem as all of my Ford products that I have owned never presented this issue.

no recall. as a matter of maintenance, you should check your oil everytime you fuel up. a quart of oil every 1000 miles is average usage. if you have no leaks, then it is buring some oil. what weight oil are you using?? Roy
