2003 Mercedes-Benz C240 4MATIC Question: excess heat in the interior of car

I am wondering why the interior of my car gets so hot! I know its from the engine, but is this normal? My A/C conked out as well, so could that be part of the problem?

    Yes, Mercedes are airtight, so you can expect excessive heat with no ac there. where you live, provided theres no other problem, or MIL on dash.
