Question: evap emission control system leak

my check engine light came on and when i hooked the car up to the scanner it gave me this code p0442 evap emission control leak small.. can anyone tell me what part needs to be changed or point me in the right direction becouse all the shops ive called want me to bring it to them so they can charge me

    well, unless you have a smoke machine and a scan tool, then a shop is your answer. there are many items in the evap system and any one of them could be an issue.

    i had the same issue when i took it in it passed the test that mastertech was referring to. its possible that its your sensor also it could be your hoses but they would have to drop the tank to get to them either way its pricy. you might wanna try to get it tested first.
