The clutch went out in my car. I received a verbal estimate from a mechanic that I've used in the past. He looked at my car & said the "Slay or Slave Cylinder" had to be replaced & total cost would be around $800(i'm not sure if it's called a "slay or slave cylinder"). He also said I should consider replacing the clutch which would cost an additional $150.00 - $200.00. So Im looking at spending $1000.00 to have it repaired. My gut is telling me this is TOO much, but would appreciate input/advice from others. Thanks! (p.s. i am not sure which engine type my car has-2.2 or 2.4)
Est. for 'Slay/Slave Cylinder Repair' is $800-$1,000! Is that TOO Much? on 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
