Actually this is a 1985 4 cyl Camry - best car I ever had. Has over 200k miles!! After about the 6th year, it began to miss ever so slightly. Over the years it has become slightly worse. And it seems to be slightly worse when I have the air vent running (but this may be my imagination). The car has never failed the California smog test, tho I always cross my fingers. I cannot find a reason for the miss. What's the most likely cause/causes?

If the miss changes when you open the vent, it may be because you are using some vacuum operated device in your heater/ventilation controls. There are a few things i would check.

1 Valve adjustment 2 Vacuum leaks 3 Compression and what kind of condition are your spark plugs and wires, your cap and rotor etc in ?
