I had the light checked and the code was p0071 a temp sen question if i replace this would the light go off or could this code be a number of things.

I suggest you have someone else read the codes. There is no P0071 code for your vehicle.

Mr.part guy their is a such code I call the lexus part shop to look up the code thats how I got the part name just hate to replace it and the light dont go off..

Po115 I think is trouble code for faulty coolant temperature sensor. For free basic Toyota/Lexus information look at http://www.autoshop101.com/ look on the left side of the page for technical articles. It's great information to understand the theory involved. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....
