Engine turns over but won't crank on 1990 Jeep Wrangler

I have an 89 Jeep Wrangler YJ, 4.2, manual tran. Was running perfectly down interstate. Came off of the ramp and the motor died and would not start back up. I have fuel from pump, fuel at carb, but intermittent spark coming from spark plug. Tried another coil but still won't crank. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Commom failures for your car are Ignition Module or Pick-Up Coil. You say you have spark at times, makes me think the oick up coil is more likely causing your problem.

Thanks. I have one ordered for it and should be here after lunch. If that doesn't do it. Is there any way that I can check the module other than buying another one and just replacing it?

There are ways to test each part in ignition system but too involved to exsplain and you need correct tools to do it....some parts stores can test module for you.

Thanks alot for your help. I really appreciate it! I'll let you know what it was. It ended up being the pickup coil. Thank goodness. I got out of that pretty cheap! Thanks for your help!
