Question: engine stops or hesitates while driving

stops while driving? before it stops the car starts to hesitates and starts to loss driving power, need to pull over and restart car with no problems. once or twice a day. last week i replaced the air intake valve because the vehicle engine stalls at stop lights. now it stops while driving, took it to the machanics found nonthing wrong, no engine light

    I have 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport and it had the identical issues you were having. I changed the spark plugs with AC Delco (Recommended by the parts store). Right after I did the change, it started to hestiate in the morning. I would have to turn off the vehicle and restart it and it ran well. Nothing was wrong. After months of this, I got tired. Took it to my mechanic and he stated there was nothing wrong with it. I was looking online about this issue and there was numerous things posted from fuel lines, fuel pump/filters and even gas. But one stood out. It was regarding the spark plugs. It stated that Jeeps run on Champion spark plugs. Cherokee and Grand Cherokees. What the heck, $12 to try right. I changed them and had no problems since. It runs like it is new. Hope this helps you out.

    thank you for the answer, i found the answer the ECM has a manufacture defect by short circuit from the cover, read www.cnet.com car tech forum: jeep grand cherokee stalling fixed! but loosen the cover screws about 1/8 - 1/4 in

    check your plugs and wires i had a simular prob changed plugs,wires, distrib,and rotor havent had a prob yet...
