The engine will stall after you come to a stop and try to accelerate from the stop. I notice that it happens worse once the car is warmed up. I have new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, fuel filter, and throttle position sensor. A friend told me that it might be the idle air control valve. If you hace any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

1994 Geo Prizm Question: Engine stalls
Answer #1patrick mannion from Greg Solow's Engine Room, June 12, 2009, 01:54Master
With the engine at idle turn on the headlights and air conditioning, the idle should raise slightly if the idle air control motor is working correctly. Its so hard to guess at what is causing your problem with out hearing the engine run and experiencing the problem first hand. Vacuum leaks, bad powers and or grounds, bad sensors lots of things could cause stalling. The 1.6L Prizm is pretty simple and should be relatively easy for any competent auto mechanic to figure out.
