1991 Geo Metro Question: Engine specifications

Visitor, Pollock Pines, CA, April 25, 2010, 12:57

I intend rebuilding the engine in my 1991 Geo Metro
I need the cylinder size and crankshaft journal size, for
both main and rod bearings. This is necessary before buying any parts to rebuild and or possibly needing further machining to the block or crankshaft.

You may want to wait untill you disassemble the engine so you can mic. the crankshaft as you may need to get it turned, and also the main and connecting arm journals need mic. other wise find your engine # and get with a dealer or part store or a mechanic shop to get your specs. ie.. torque settings and stock dimensions. If the engine has ever been rebuilt or your not sure if it has you need to drop the oilpan and pull apart a main and connecting arm bearing to get the #s.
