Engine shutting off at low RPM's on 1995 Audi 90

My exhaust isnt connecting underneath, we bought new clamps but they ended up not fitting. Could this be the reason why whenever my RPM's get low enough the engine just cuts off. Its pretty intense losing all power around corners that have a stop sign. Help me out!

It sounds like the idle speed is too low. Make sure the base idle settings are correct and the idle valve is operating correctly. Also make sure there are no vacuum leaks.

how do you adjust the rpm level to the correct settings?
