Report: Engine Runs Rough, Stalls, Hesitates on Acceleration, Hard Starting, Poor Performance
Ford Probe Problem
Model Years Affected: 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994
Engines Affected: 2.0L 4 Cylinder, 2.2L 4 Cylinder, 2.2L 4 Cylinder Turbo, 4 Cylinder
Average Mileage: 110,000 mi (100,000 mi - 120,000 mi)
If the engine runs rough, stalls, hesitates on acceleration, is hard to start, or has generally poor performance, this can be caused by a cracked or broken air inlet tube. Loose clamps on the air tube can also cause this these problems. Tightening the air inlet tube, or replacing if broken, should correct the problem.
