engine replacement on 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan

I was told; When replacing this engine it has to come out from the bottom of the vehicle??? Is this true??

The instructions I have state that the engine is hoisted from the top, however it may be easier through the bottom, that is how I do it on some vehicles.
