Question: engine noise

 Rookie

the engine in my car seems abnormally loud. I had the flex pipe and the muffler replaced. Mechanics said these were the cause. It is still noisy. Fairly quite at idle, but whenever the accelerator is applied the engine roars. Is this just a noisy engine, to be expected? Or is there something that I can fix? Otherwise it runs perfectly. Thanks

  I would suggest to go for a ride with your machanic and have him listen to the noise you are concerned about. Once you both agree that there is an abnormal noise the you know the machanic has heard the noise and that should help pinpoint the problem if there is one.
