Engine misfiring on 1999 Chrysler Sebring

I recently replaced a couple of spark plugs to change them out and now my engine is beginning to misfire and run a little rough and 2 of the plug caps are popping off and I can smell a little burning for a couple of minutes after I turn the car off. Any suggestions?
