Question: engine lite on ildes hi to lo rpm constant

I change out motor one year ago. It had 287,000 miles engine does not use oil between changes. It started ildeing hi to lo and shifting hard out of first. The engine lite came on last nite from work now it idles hi to lo constantly. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    could be a vacuum leak or a failed iac motor. you need the code pulled to identify the failed system and then it will be easier to track down the failure.
