Well, first off - have the vehicle checked for failure codes. This will give you clues.
In that area, though, you do have a mass air flow sensor. Make sure it is not damaged in any way, and that the plugs is securely attached. Also, make sure your air tube is attached securely and the air box itself is sealed. Sometimes when you change the filter, things don't seat right. A mass air leak will cause the light once running too.
